Hi, I’m Dr. Jenny Isaacs
I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist for children, adolescents, adults, and families. My goal is for you to feel safe, seen, and understood, so that, together, we can explore your feelings and experiences, without judgement, to better support meaningful progress and improve functioning.

I view therapy as a partnership, and aim to closely listen to your goals so that we can determine how to best meet your needs.
Though my approach is largely rooted in psychodynamic and attachment theories, I integrate other modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), to best tailor treatment to your personal goals. I think a lot about how our past and earlier relationships impact us today, including the lens through which we see the world, develop our value systems, form intersecting identities (i.e., culture, race, religion, gender, sexuality, etc.), and how we process information. We will focus a lot on what is going on now (i.e., why you are coming to therapy now and what you want to focus on), while also thinking about what happened before and make connections in order to foster insight, gain a better understanding for your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and build effective coping skills.

In working with children, I utilize curiosity, warmth, and playfulness, so that children feel supported and safe to express themselves.
Play therapy is an evidence-based, child treatment that aids effective processing of deep emotions that may be otherwise difficult to access or talk about directly. It is an effective form of treatment for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, behavioral challenges, grief and bereavement, trauma, and family/peer conflict. Play therapy allows young children to build necessary emotion regulation skills and work through challenging experiences and life events in a developmentally appropriate way. It also helps children develop social skills, improve self-esteem, and learn how to build and recognize safe, healthy relationships. Play therapy can look different depending on the child, their developmental needs, and their interests. As such, I utilize an array of mediums to connect with your child by using the language they understand best - play!
Much like any successful therapy model, play therapy depends on a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and safety. I prioritize meeting your child where they’re at by placing your child in the position of co-pilot, allowing them to freely express themselves in a secure, reflective, and nonjudgemental environment, and be an agent in their own treatment.

I work closely with parents of children and adolescents to help them feel empowered and supported in their ability to understand and help their child’s development and mental health journey. I approach parenting support and consultation with collaboration, empathy, curiosity and a good dose of humor. I am here to partner with you, invite you to wonder about yourself and your child in new ways, and provide coping and emotion regulation tools to support meaningful, positive change in your dynamic with your child, all while holding space for the trials and tribulations that come with parenthood.
I am also trained in different techniques and parenting interventions, including:
Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) Informed Treatment: Assists parents in responding effectively to children with anxious presentations.
Parent-Infant Dyadic-Informed Therapy: Assists parents in building reflective functioning skills, safety, and secure attachment strategies and bonding with their infant/younger children.

I provide family therapy to improve communication and strengthen family relationships and bonds. In working closely with families, my primary goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and empathic space to promote healthier relationships, and increase family functioning. I emphasize the recognition and impact of intergenerational trauma, and build effective communication and coping skills, so that, ultimately, members feel seen, heard, and understood by each other.

By collaborating directly with schools, I am able to help children struggling with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges in educational settings. This allows me to work closely with educators and other school support staff to create a supportive environment where your child can learn and thrive, in and out of the therapy office.
I am so glad you’re here.
I am a New York State and New Jersey State licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in therapy with individuals, of all ages, and families. My approach to patient care is intentional, with warmth, curiosity, and empathy as the hallmarks.
My clinical work is rooted in psychodynamic and attachment theories, as well as my experience providing trauma-informed care. I received my doctorate in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University.
I specialize in providing integrative evidence-based treatments to best meet yours and/or your child’s needs. With young children, I specialize in providing integrative play therapy. I strive to help my clients feel comfortable, safe, and supported, no matter what life may throw at them.
Like all important relationships, therapy works best when you find the right fit for you and I am here to help support you through that.
